Accessibility Statement
Joche Solutions Ltd (RC 9650706) is committed to making the Joche Gauntlet accessible to as many people as possible, including builders who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we work to improve the platform as we build.
Conformance status
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. The Joche Gauntlet is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which means some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard. We are actively working to close the gaps listed below.
What we do to support accessibility
- Structure pages with meaningful headings and semantic HTML so assistive tech can navigate them.
- Support keyboard-only use for the core flows: signing in, entering a cycle, submitting work, and managing your account.
- Provide visible focus states so keyboard users can see where they are on a page.
- Aim for sufficient colour contrast between text and its background, and avoid using colour alone to carry meaning.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and icons, and mark decorative images so they are skipped.
- Label form fields and surface clear, specific error messages.
- Build responsive layouts that work on phones, tablets, and desktops, and support browser zoom and text resizing.
- Respect the reduced-motion preference set in your device or browser where animations are used.
Known limitations
We want to be honest about where the experience may fall short. We are working on these areas:
- Some third-party components we embed (for example the Cloudflare Turnstile human check and the Paystack payout flow) are outside our direct control, and their accessibility depends on the provider.
- Certain data visualisations, such as leaderboard and analytics charts, may not yet expose all of their information to screen readers. Where a chart is used, we aim to also present the same data in text or a table.
- Content submitted by other users (for example submissions and display names) is not controlled by us and may not always meet accessibility best practices.
- Some older pages are still being reviewed and updated to the standard above.
Compatibility
The Joche Gauntlet is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge) on desktop and mobile, used with current assistive technologies. If you are on a much older browser or device, some features may not work as intended.
